The Quality Behind Olivino Essential

As a food and nutrition scientist and founder of OlivinoLife, I pay close attention to how dietary supplements are made and evaluated. ConsumerLab.com [1] is one of my trusted sources for information about supplement quality.

Founded in 1999, ConsumerLab.com is a provider of independent test results and information to help consumers and healthcare professionals identify quality health and nutrition products. Its recent report on dietary supplement manufacturing facilities caught my attention.

Here’s what the findings mean, along with information about the quality standards behind Olivino Essential.

Nearly Half of Inspected Supplement Sites Received FDA Noncompliance Notices

The ConsumerLab.com report covered 800 dietary supplement manufacturing facilities around the world inspected by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) during fiscal year 2025 [2]. Nearly half—49.1%—received notices indicating noncompliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Of the 720 U.S. facilities inspected, 47.6% received notices. Because the FDA inspects only a small fraction of manufacturing sites each year, these findings do not represent the entire industry.

What the Findings Mean

The FDA did not provide details about the specific issues found during its 2025 inspections. However, during the 2020 inspections, the FDA said that manufacturing facilities receiving notices had a median of four infractions. Examples included missing product specifications, quality-control procedures that were not established or followed, and incomplete production records.

ConsumerLab.com publishes reviews across nearly every popular supplement category, from vitamins and minerals to herbal products. Its current collection includes reviews of more than 1,400 products. In each review, it independently tests a selection of products from multiple brands—typically purchased in stores or online—and may check whether products contain the ingredients and amounts listed on the label and meet standards for purity. Its product selection is guided in part by surveys of supplement users.

Across the supplements it tests in the United States and Canada, ConsumerLab.com reports that about one in five does not meet its quality parameters.

Quality Checks Behind Olivino Essential

Olivino® Essential is made by CAPTEK Softgel International [3], a California-based supplement manufacturer that follows rigorous quality-assurance and quality-control standards. CAPTEK holds GMP certifications from UL Solutions and the U.S. Pharmacopeia (USP). These certifications reflect independent assessments of its manufacturing practices against defined quality standards.

CAPTEK’s records include a finished product specification and a Certificate of Analysis for Olivino Essential’s April 2026 production lot. As shown below, the measured amounts of all four active ingredients were within the product specifications for the quantities listed on the label. The lot also met Olivino’s microbial and heavy metal specifications.
